I have severe FOMO!! I am over here working like a mofo while everyone else is out there baking banana bread, doing DIY projects and sleeping late. I feel like I am not doing this whole lock down thing right.
I know I am one of the lucky ones who is still able to work and generate an income. I am also aware that many people want to be working right. I am just finding the juggle very hectic right now.
For the sake of memories, I decided to share our current daily schedule.
4h00 – I get up before everyone else. It is the only way I am surviving. The quiet time helps me to get a lot of work done. By the time the kids wake up I have already done 2/3 hours of work.
6h00 – 7h00 – I have just started doing Yoga again, so I do a 20-30 minute work out. (Yoga with Adrienne is great if you are looking.) Jack and Emma wake up somewhere along the line.
7h00 – 8h00 – Coffee, breakfast, make some bread/cookies or something, throw a load of washing in.
8h00 – 10h00 – We are back to school now so we are dong school. Last week we used this time to do our crafts and activities.
10h00 – someone needs to eat. Washing gets hung up, dishwasher gets packed.
10h30 – 12h00 – Back to work. The kids chill, doing a range of things form playing minecraft, drawing, painting etc. They get bored, moan, need to eat, fight etc. But for the most part they let me work.
12h00 – 13h00 Lunch. I generally pick the quickest meal I can find with what’s in the fridge. But invariable someone doesn’t want what I have on offer. I end up making a lot of different meals every.single.day. We full up the dishwasher and put it on. More washing gets hung up (if needed).
13h00 – 15h00 – More work. By now the kids are getting really restless. If David has time he lets the ride on the driveway. They start bouncing around me a lot during this time. Despite having lunch they need MORE EFFING FOOD.
15h00 – 17h00 – Dinner gets cooked, I tidy up the lounge and kitchen, bring in the washing and try to get a little order back to the house (honestly I am failing at this. My house looks chaotic.).
16h00 – 17h00 – I am trying to get onto a group Zoom call with a business coach during this time but it is a bit crazy.
17h00 – 18h00 Chill time. I take a time out, eat dinner, watch TV etc.
18h00 – We are doing a family Zoom call every second day so we do that for an hour. Otherwise it is bath time and get ready for story time and bed.
19h00 – 20h00 – Story time and bed! THANK HEAVENS!!!!!
There is not a moment where we are sitting just for the sake of sitting. And if we dare to do that a kid finds us needs something URGENTLY!!
