10 Ways To Reuse Glass Jars

10 Ways To Reuse Glass Jars|HarassedMom

I love glass jars. No really I do. I have successfully replaced all our kitchen containers with various glass jars and I absolutely love it. Not only are glass jars pretty but there is so much you can do with them.

I am trying very hard to live minimally but I have an entire cupboard fulled with various sized glass jars. Every few months I do have to do a clear out and recycle a whole lot.

I have put together just a few ideas on how to use your glass jars, some we already do and others are just ideas I have collected to try out.

Sewing Kit. I haven’t done this yet but I already have our buttons n a glass jar, so I am going to see if we can add the pin cushion onto the lid. Doesn’t the glass just make the sewing kit look so much prettier.

Water bottles. David, Jack and Kiara all use re-purposed Tomato Sauce bottles as their water bottles. You will be surprised how few have actually broken and Jack leaves his all over the place. Kiara has a few jars like the ones below that she uses for her lemon water.

Cupcake holder storage. I have 2 sets of silicone cupcake holders that are very brightly coloured and store in glass jars and being able to see those bright colours makes me incredibly happy.

Stationery organisers. One thing I didn’t really plan on was the amount of stationery we would collect as homeschoolers so our desk is covered in jars and cans with pens, pencils and crayons in.

Food storage. We have all of our dry goods in jars. It makes it easy to see what we have and when something is about to finish. You can get so creative with the labels and paint on chalk or get stickers printed.

Get creative for the holidays. You can decorate glass jars for pretty much any occasion.

Salad Vibes. Consol have these super awesome jars that have a little section that connects to the lid where you can put the salad dressing for a salad. It is so cool and makes you want to make salads in a jar. But you can do pretty much anything really.

Fairy lights for table decor or just for outside. How pretty is this? I am so in love with this and would just do it just because it is so pretty.

More kitchen organising. We have two large glass jars for this and it doesn’t look as pretty as this but it is still pretty cool. Maybe I should give mine a coat of paint.

Lights. This is a bit of an adventurous project but I have seen it in a few different places and it always looks so stunning. How hard can it be, right?

  1. I love ALL of these ideas! I feel like I’m wasting our glass jars when I toss them in the recycling bin. Time to start savings them and get creative!

  2. This is such a great idea! Very timely too since I have a lot of empty jars at home. It would be much better to reuse them instead of simply throwing it away. The Christmas snowglobes look really nice.

  3. I am obsessed with glass jars! I’ve done pretty much what you have. All ingredients in the cupboards are in glass containers. Usually glass coffee containers with the labels soaked off. I absolutely love it!

  4. I love these ideas! We do save jars for drinking. I also use some for other food storage. I have used small ones for crafts. I’ll have to give some of these a try.
