Gift Ideas For Kids That Aren’t Toys

Christmas is coming and the goose is getting fat!

After the year we have all had, it feels like we need a proper celebration with masses of gifts and tables bulging with food – right? It feels like we deserve to be treated and spoilt and rewarded for surviving a pretty unsettling year.

board games. They are such a great way to get the whole family engaged. There are so many board games available, you will find games to suit everyone’s needs.
  • Art Supplies. Paints and pens are always in demand in our home. All of the younger kids have asked for some sort of art supplies for Christmas this year.
  • A sewing machine. Kiara received my moms old sewing machine and it has been such a useful thing to have in the house. She has been learning how to sew and Jack and Emma get involved if they need something fixed or made.

We do art supplies from Santa, every year! They also fly out of our house like crazy. And my daughter is always so excited for new supplies 😍

I love your sewing machine option too! It’s so fantastic to teach kids these dying life skills.

Art supplies are indeed a great gift to give because children do use them for many different creative things! I like this!

Staples my kids always get are socks and underwear, charging cords (we fight over them starting around August every year, no matter how many I buy, so I also started giving these for birthdays), books, and art supplies.

Kids have SO many toys! I am constantly telling people to stop buying them more toys! I love these options! My daughter loves crafts so art supplies would be great!

We love arts and crafts supplies. They don’t take up much space and keep the kids occupied.

Such great recommendations! My daughter is an artist so she ALWAYS loves getting art supplies. Any of these suggestions are great actually – we have so many toys. Not having more toys to add to our toy room would be a present for me too! Ha!

I love gift ideas that aren’t necessarily an item. This is a great list and is good inspiration for my shopping list.
