Stop Making Excuses – You Can Work Out

I don’t particularly enjoy working out, even though I grew up active. I do it because I know it is good for my body and overall health. A few months ago we cancelled our gym membership. The plan was to workout at home. The plan initially worked for David and Cameron, David runs and Cameron has unnatural self-discipline. I just stopped doing everything, which was not really ideal considering my rather rapid weight gain at the time.#NoExcuses. Get fit today | HarassedMom

We all reach that point where enough is enough and I reached mine when Carla sent us a message on one of our whatsapp groups about her personal training packages. I signed up immediately about 4 months ago and I haven’t looked back! Carla is a personal trainer who understands the challenges moms face when it comes to exercising and weight loss.

What I liked most about Carla is she removes ALL excuses!

Excuse 1: I can’t workout at home, I have no equipment!

Carla: I will give you a workout using what you have, even if it is just some filled water bottles.

Excuse 2: I don’t have the time.

Carla: Here is a 15 minute workout for those busy days.

Excuse 3: Argh I am not losing any weight, this is pointless.

Carla: Let’s change things up, here is a workout designed to burn fat.

Every obstacle I face, Carla finds away to overcome them so I literally have no more excuses.

I am currently following a HIIT workout that is tough, it gets my heart rate up and makes me red in the face. It is still a little bit of a struggle to get started but I am determined to keep going at least until I have lost the 20kg I picked up thanks to my meds.

Exercising is not always fun. Research says that it releases endorphins that make us feel better, I am sure it does but some days after a workout all I want to do is eat all the food and have a long afternoon nap! But I do it anyway because it is good for me and has so many overall benefits to my health. It is not even about the weight any more, it is about taking the time out for myself to do something will benefit me.

The challenge today moms, is to get up, get active and look after your body. There really is nothing but you holding you back.

I definitely make too many excuses. I need to workout at home more but usually wait until I having napping kids. Otherwise I have a toddler jumping on as I do anything on the floor like planks.

What a great program! As soon as I return from a short trip, we’ll be coming back and signing up for a gym membership. I’m finally ready to get some real breaks from my toddler son, not that I necessarily want to work out, but he drives me crazy. LOL. I know I won’t workout without those scheduled fitness classes though.

Some awesome ideas here! Thanks for sharing! I think the emotional part of working out is the most important to overcome. You need to get your head right and then the fitness world is your oyster!
