Fun fact – my birthday falls over the Easter Weekend! This is the second time it has happened (or that I can remember). The first time was when I turned 17. It is also our first “out of lockdown” Easter celebration in two years! So there is a chance we are going to have a weekend of celebrating!
If you are also looking for fun things to do with your family over Easter, head down to the Easter fun happening at Menlyn Park Shopping Center. We took the kids over the weekend and it was lots of fun.
The activation has been set up in the Aviary Court (near TotalSports and Truworths) and is suitable for kids of all ages. All you need is a cell phone (the mall has free Wi-Fi) and a positive attitude.
A fun maze has been set up where you have to look for 6 Easter eggs and scan them into the app. Once you have scanned them in a silly little joke pops up – the kids found them hilarious! If you snap a selfie and upload it to Menlyn’s Facebook page you stand a chance to win a R1000 mall voucher. Just imagine all the chocolates you could buy with that!
There is an interactive photo wall with the Easter Bunny and friends – again all telling funny jokes. If you share your selfie at the selfie wall you can stand a chance to win a R1000 mall voucher.
Once you have walked through the maze, found all the Easter eggs, had your selfie taken at the selfie wall you can head over to the Choc Cafe and get creative. The kids can colour in their favourite Easter picture and then decorate a delicious (and stunning) Easter cookie.
It is a great treat for the kids, especially those who aren’t too keen on shopping. You could always leave dad and the kids to have some Easter fun while you get the shopping down – win win for everyone!
The activation will be on at Menlyn Park Shopping Center from 10h00 – 16h00 on the following days 8-10 April and 13-18 April.
