Raindrops keep falling on my head

It is raining again this morning in Pretoria and really to be honest as much as I love the rain – I am OVER it now!

Little update on whats been happening in the land of harassed moms and spirited children.

  • My mom is busy unpacking cupboards and packing storage boxes (and the house isn’t even officially on the market yet) and she found a box of my old toys. There is a Fisher Price pull along telephone – I think we ALL have one of those. It must be 31 years old ๐Ÿ™‚
  • We had a weekend fulled with the worst service ending with Davids complex refusing us access because we had forgotten the gate tag. So we ended up sleeping at his moms house because they just wouldn’t let us in.
  • I have a 3 day week ๐Ÿ™‚ Exams start on Friday so Thursday is study day and I really need it. I am a little unfocused at the moment!
  • We saw the most aweful townhouse on Sunday. It was in a crap area, the unit was FLITHY and really just yuk. Upset David and I and the agent got upset because we didn’t like it?
  • David and I had cocktails and snacks at MiLounge which is run by Davids best friend. It’s a really stunning place with the most awesome food ๐Ÿ™‚
  • Work is actually busy at the moment. I am standing in for a colleague who is on maternity leave. Its actually nice to be busy like this.

Yes, I agree – so over the rain. Really weird season this year. On the outside beams – we added some about 3 years ago – it’s not always simple because for instance our main control did not have zones left to install more, so we had to update that. Rather get a quote.

if you loking for just the perimetre beams have you tried a company called roboguard it works independantly and “shoots” a whole lot of beams around the property (depending on the size) we had it installed previously but it isnt linked to a alarm system company so it would only really warn u of ppl on the property and its pet friendly the warning system is portable it gives off a kind of beeping signal when someone is around. If u already have an alarm system on the property then that would really b all u need. we have since “upgraded” to perimeter beams supllied by a security company but it often gives off false alarms would prefer to go back to the robogaurd and just press panic button when we get the warning

Hello! I just popped by, your blog caught my eye because of the award you won. I’m an Australian mom blogger (check my site if you have a moment). I would love to have some South African moms to talk to. We have many, many South Africans in Sydney (my home town) and we like them very much. The dads make great rugby coaches….LOL. One thing that makes me sad for SAfricans is the high level of crime. We dont have to deal with that, which is a blessing. Love to trade stories with you, if you are interested. xx Michaela

Everyone is complaining about the rain but honestly, I wouldn’t mind it if the rain does not stop. It would be so awesome

At first I was happy about the rain because it keeps my vegetable garden watered. But it’s way too much and sometimes i do want to see the yellow bob in the sky. And it gets so cold!
    Good luck with the househunting.
