Sick kids and Beetroot!

I got a call from school on Monday to fetch Jack. He didn’t have a temperature but was very unsettled, so I fetched him and he fell asleep for about an hour. When he woke up he was boiling hot and was struggling to talk. A visit to the Dr confirmed he had a really bad case of tonsilitis. Poor kid was boy down for two days! Last night, whatever evil bug is lurking in the air, gripped hold of Cameron! We are pretty much over this winter to be honest.

David also appears to have it, Kiara is coughing like a smoker and I have had this annoying cough since we visited my mom. Bed time is not as quiet as it is supposed to be, its like coughing tennis between the 5 of us. I am really over dealing with sick kids! Dealing with chicken pox wasn’t particularly fun but this bug is something else if has managed to attack Cameron!

When we were getting ready for Levels earlier this year I called the Dr for a report and our current Dr, who we have been seeing for 6 years has no file on Cameron! So basically he hasn’t been sick enough to need a Dr in over 6 years!!! But right now he is fast asleep on the couch, he has been there since yesterday! He even allowed me to feel his forehead yesterday.

It is clearly a pretty strong bug that can survive the cold weather. I am really praying it passes quickly.Myang | HarassedMom

Yesterday I spoke at an event organised my Myang. It was such a fun morning. I really love public speaking, yesterday I spoke about Sensory Processing Disorder and how it has affected us, hopefully when those new moms find themselves dealing with a kid who wont wear socks or can’t stand loud environments, they will remember what I spoke about.

The event was hosting by Beetroot Inc in Waterkloof Corner, it is such a stunning shop. They sell a variety of South African made home decor. It is like walking in to a little piece of heaven. Pretoria friends, pop in, I promise you won’t be sorry!!!!

Have you been dealing with sick kids at all?

Hope the family all feel better soon! Our household also seem to be down with a bit of the flu. Our swimming coach promotes by Biostrath for all her swimmers (specially at competitive levels) and if you get hit by a bug she advises to increase intake of Biostrath he

It is the most gorgeous shop! Yes my healthy kid (A) has now been to the Dr twice with an ear infection that is totally relentless. Tough bugs this year
