There is no image for a mom with four kids because I think that our brains actually were removed when kid four came out!
I am struggle a little bit at the moment to keep track of the normal every day things. It honestly feels like my brain is friend! When I typed out this heading I actually wrote “My friend…” who knows what I was going for.
The worst thing is I can’t blame it on stress because I am not particularly stressed or over worked or tired and Emma is 18 months (I think) so preggy brain can’t be used either!
In the last few weeks I have done (or not done as the case may be) all of the below!
- Locked my keys in the car (this has actually happened twice this year – who even does this anymore).
- Forgotten Cameron’s prefect ceremony. I wrote it down, knew it was on but if he hadn’t mentioned it the day before I wouldn’t have gone.
- I ran out of formula one night, which resulted in me having to call Davids mom who dropped some off (David was in Nigeria so of no help).
- I sent out emails earlier this week and forgot the attachment on all of them. The attachment was the reason for the mail!
- The car service was nowhere on my radar!
- I forgot to order Emma nappies last month.
- I made an appointment for them to come and fix my windscreen on Monday, they arrived and I had no idea why they were here.
- David has been asking me to scan a document in for 3 weeks. I have scanned it in, I just keep forgetting to send it to him.
- My Santa Shoebox team leader needed information from me – she eventually made an executive decision because I forgot to send her the info.
- It took me three trips to the shops to get Kiara’s broom for dancing. Each time I went specifically to get the broom, each time I walked out with who the hell knows what.
I don’t know if it is just because I have so many kids or because I am dreaming of our summer holiday and trying to ignore the cold or if maybe my brain really is just fried.
I have notes everywhere now, reminding me of this and that and the next thing because otherwise my family may find themselves without food one night.
Is your brain fried too? Or is it just me feeling every so slightly harassed at the moment?

I think its the disease of busy-ness. We have so much on the go (can’t even imagine 4 kids!) that we are never completely focussed on one thing at a time.
There is a saying: you should meditate 20 min everyday. Unless you are busy then you should do 40min.
It seems impossible but the key to getting your head back is to actually slow down.

I agree with Denise. Can you slow down a bit?
Well, it’s warming up so winter is nearly over for this year.

I think mine is frozen – not fried. I am also constantly forgetting things – I live by the calendar and lists only

lol Laura… I have also locked my keys in the car before a few times. Now I have two sets of keys (one for the car, one for the house) and the house one also has the car keys. And my husband has a set as well.

I think you are just tired and winter has been too long.

First place to look is at your sleep – are you getting enough and is it good, deep sleep? Next there’s nutrition – are you eating well and taking all the necessary supplements?
I generally find that when I’m that forgetful, it’s either because of one of those two things or because there’s something heavy weighing on me…
