Some of you may remember last year this time I was at my mom for the holidays and we were battling with Emma to sleep! It was a really rough two weeks with her, well we have had a repeat of that this week. It has been super rough.
We moved her to her own bed thinking it would be better, well she fell asleep fine but it didn’t make her sleep any better and when I heard the pitter patter of little feet walking down the passage in the middle of the night I did have a small cry. Saturday night was all kinds of rubbish. She cried, screamed, laughed, played – everything but SLEEP. She fell asleep at 2h00 and we had to wake her at 5h00 to go and drop the Jack and Kiara with my mom. I spent SIX hours with her in the car! I did question my will to live about 5 minutes in! Last night was rinse and repeat. She fell asleep at 4h15 and Cameron and I left at 6h00 for Durban! We think she has heartburn. We are hoping its heart burn.
Cameron and I are in Durban this week for a gala. On the drive into Pinetown Cameron mentioned how he remembered the mountains at the one part being bigger. As we drove into my aunts house he said he the house is smaller than he remembered. I suggested maybe it is because he is bigger now. I had a similar experience walking into the Kings Park Pool Stadium. I had this image in my head of this HUGE pool with HUGE stands but when I walked in, it felt smaller. Amazing how your perspective changes the older you get. Anyway we are looking forward to a great week of swimming!
And last but not least, how amazing is my new header? I am so in love with it!!! I really didn’t give Andrea much to work with but she came back with this and I totally love it. I am so happy that I did it. It was a small gift to myself!
What do you guys think?
PS. Andrea also did the beautiful SA Mom Blogs new look! If you have a blog and are looking for a make over, contact Andrea, you will not be sorry!

The sleep thing must be age related – Keiden is going through a rough sleep patch too. His naps have gone from decent to half an hour. Just remembered, it’s wonder week time…that 18 month sleep regression hitting early.
I love the harassed but happy tag.
I hope you and Cameron have a great time just the two of you, even though most of it will be taken by swimming.

She hasn’t slept properly for a long time Cassey. It seems my girls just arent sleepers!
Love the new look on the blog. Hope the sleeping patterns improve! And good luck Cameron on the swimming this week my niece also entered same gala oh and sorry you’ve arrived in Durban to the not so sunny weather either way we desperately need the rain at least the stands you’ll be sitting in are sheltered.
Thanks Debby! The weather was ok – not ideal but at least we swam indoors.
Love the new look. It’s funny, I had a quick glance at the logo, and read Harassed Mom, and in my head thought ‘Harassed Happy Mom’. That was before I saw the part on the side that said ‘but Happy’. It really works.
I can’t remember if I told you how we struggled almost 4 years with the youngest with his sleeping. He would go to bed easily, and on his own, but would wake up 2 to 4 times during the night. Had him at the doc as well, but except for ear infections and tonsillites every now and again they said nothing is wrong with him, just told me to implement a routine (we had a good routine), and to let him cry it out (tried that as well). Basically telling me I’m doing something wrong. I eventually just gave up and decided to live with it. It was easier when he started getting up and coming to our bed, because then we all got some sleep. Then beginning of the year the doc said he had tonsillites enough times, he can go for the op. Took him to the ENT, and the first thing he notices is a fungus growing in his mouth and throat, and he asks us if the poor kid has very bad reflux. He checked when doing the tonsillectomy, and said he did indeed have very bad reflux. Started with meds immediately, and I think the second day on the meds he started sleeping through.
mmmm Rene – food for thought that!!! Will see how it goes this week (she apparently slept through with granny while I was away).
Loving the new look!
The new look is simply stunning! Love it. Ai and sleep – or the lack thereof…. Best of luck for Cameron! One of A’s friends is also there swimming

Thanks Rina. There were lots of Pretoria clubs there.
I am also battling with sleep at the moment but last night had a good one. I blame the dog! I ignored the dog last night and we slept fine. Nice makeover! Mine is coming soon!

The weather didn’t really play ball but Cameron swam like a champion so it was a great week!
Looks like I seriously lucked out in the sleep department – mine have all been good sleepers. I hope you guys can figure out what the issue is and get it sorted soon.
Love the new look!
