When do you put your Christmas Tree up?
Generally we put ours up pretty early – the last two years we have put our tree up on the 1 November just because it is never to early to add a little joy!
There are a few creative ways you can create a sustainable Christmas tree. These trees are really great for those who enjoy a minimal lifestyle and don’t want a big, busy tree with lots of little decorations.
Minimal definitely does not mean plain or boring – as these trees display.

Wooden Christmas Tree: I LOVE this tree. If you are handy, it is pretty easy to make. You can use off cuts of wood you have or have collected. You can add colored baubles and decorations to bring a little color to this tree.
Drift Wood Christmas Tree: This is one of the more popular sustainable designs that are all over Pinterest and the internet in general. It is another really easy tree to make, perfect if you have limited space or little kids (or puppies) who can’t leave trees alone. Or alternatively you can add this in your dining room, office or entrance hall.
Green leaves Christmas Tree: I absolutely love the look of this but I suspect that this is one of those DIY activities that look simple but aren’t really. But it would look very pretty in an entrance hall or a staircase. Adding some fairy lights would add a little colour and sparkle.
Photo Collage: If I had a big enough wall to make this collage I would do it. It is such a novel idea and so effective. This is a fun idea for an office or even a bedroom.
Wooden Christmas Tree: This is a super simple idea but isn’t it so lovely? You could hang it or lean it against the wall and then go wild with the decorations. Christmas lights would look super cute on this and how easy would it be to store this (unlike those big fake Christmas trees)
Christmas Card Tree: This is a great way to reuse Christmas cards and you can make it as big or as small as you want. You could also create more than one – on the back of the toilet door, the kitchen, the front door – anywhere really.
